Term 2 Week 5(Weekend Assignment)

School rules are there for a reason, and they are there to keep the school orderly and for students to learn what are the right behaviors that is encouraged by the society. With so many rules to follow in school, I feel that students should have a say in deciding the school rules.
Some rules do not make a big difference whether these rules are followed or not. For example, the rule of wearing ankle socks is not allowed in school but there is no harm in wearing ankle socks. Many say that wearing ankle socks would make the students look unruly but it really does not reflect the character of the student if ankle socks are allowed. Even when ankle socks are worn in the society, people cannot tell you that ankle socks are not allowed as it does not affect other people in any way. Thus, these rules should be allowed to be broken and give the students some freedom.
With so many rules to follow in school, students are sure to be pressurized as this reflects the high expectations the society has on them. Students are already loaded with homework these days and most of these rules disallow them to have fun or distress in school. With so many rules to follow and so much homework to do, it is inevitable that students will feel stressed in their school lives as they cannot release their stress in school as there are school rules stopping them from doing so. Many parents also do not allow their children to have fun at home and often pressurizes them to do their homework, thus, home is also not an option for them to distress.
In conclusion, having no way to release their stress and some rules being avoidable are the main reasons that students should have a say in deciding the school rules. With things being so much better if the students are able to have a say in deciding the school rules, why are the students still not able to do this?
