"GRENADE!" I immediately leaped towards safety and fell flat onto the ground. Bombs were just practically exploding everywhere and there was no safe place that one could take cover in. I had just barely escaped the jaws of death. However, there was still no time to rest as another bomb came into our territory. Panicky, I mustered all my strength and leaped away from the bomb again, hoping that I would get minimum damage. There was really too little reaction time! We returned fire with our hand grenades and machine guns while we were bombarded with grenades. It was simply hell. One could just lose his life at any point of time as explosions were everywhere. With myself muddy and sticky from falling onto the floor, it was as though I was carrying a few extra weights on me but there was just simply no time to get them off. We cannot stop moving in war, if we stop moving for even a second, we would be extremely vulnerable. I could barely listen to my own thoughts as it was like being next to exploding fireworks. Looking at my cheerful and friendly allies go down one by one, I began to lose hope. I immediately rushed to their help, shouting desperately for them not to give up on living as I brought them back to the paramedics. Tears began to appear in my eyes as more and more allies just fell right before my eyes and there was nothing I could do to help them. From then on, being very lucky to have survived the war, I have never forgotten that sight, of allies dying on the battlefield, and many of them have families to take care of and by passing away, they have just left their families behind. It really is sad to witness this sight, and I have experienced the consequences of this "hell".
